These guidelines provide detailed instructions for authors preparing and submitting manuscripts to the journal. Please read them carefully before submitting your work to ensure it meets our requirements. Adherence to these guidelines will help expedite the review and publication process.

Manuscript Types

The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:

  • Original Research Articles: Reports of original research work representing a significant contribution to the field (4000-8000 words excluding references/figures).
  • Review Articles: Comprehensive and critical surveys of existing literature on a specific topic within the journal’s scope (6000-10000 words).
  • Short Communications: Brief reports of preliminary but significant findings or novel techniques. (under 3000 words)
  • Perspectives/Opinions: Short, focused articles presenting a viewpoint on a current topic or future direction in the field (under 2000 words).

The I-CRAFT Journal – Agricultural and Food Technologies is an international, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to publishing high-quality original research, reviews, and short communications in the fields of agriculture and food technologies. Our scope includes, but is not limited to:

We welcome submissions that present novel findings, significant advancements, and insightful reviews contributing to the understanding and development of agricultural and food technologies.

Ethical Considerations

Authors must adhere to the highest ethical standards. Submission implies that:

  • The manuscript is original and has not been published elsewhere in any language.
  • The manuscript is not under simultaneous consideration by any other journal.
  • All authors have read and approved the submitted manuscript and agree to its submission to the I-CRAFT Journal.
  • All authors meet the criteria for authorship (based on  – involving significant contribution to conception, design, data acquisition, analysis, or interpretation; drafting or critically revising the work; final approval; and agreement to be accountable).
  • Any potential conflict of interest (financial or otherwise) is clearly declared by all authors.
  • Appropriate authorization has been obtained for the use of any copyrighted material.
  • Studies involving human subjects or animals have been conducted according to relevant ethical guidelines and regulations, and where applicable, ethical approval from the relevant institutional committee has been obtained and is stated in the manuscript.
  • The data presented is real and not fabricated or manipulated. The journal may use plagiarism detection software.

Submission Process

Manuscripts should be submitted electronically through the journal’s online submission system.

  • If you are a first-time user, you will need to register for an account.
  • Follow the instructions on the portal to upload your files and provide necessary information about your manuscript and authors.
  • You will be required to upload your main manuscript file, separate figure/table files (if applicable), and any supplementary materials.
  • A cover letter is required and should briefly introduce the manuscript, state its significance, confirm it is original and not under review elsewhere, and mention any potential reviewers you wish to suggest or exclude.

Peer Review

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial check for scope and formatting. Manuscripts that pass this check are then sent for rigorous peer review by at least two independent experts in the field. The journal employs a  double-blind peer review process. The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision based on the reviewers’ recommendations.

Publication Fees

 “The I-CRAFT Journal – Agricultural and Food Technologies does not charge any submission or publication fees (APCs).”

Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts should be prepared according to the following guidelines:

General Formatting:

  • Manuscripts should be submitted as a single file (preferably Microsoft Word .docx or LaTeX).
  • Use a Times New Roman, 12pt.
  • Use double-line spacing throughout the manuscript.
  • Maintain standard margins 2.5 cm on all sides.
  • Number all pages consecutively.
  • Ensure figures and tables are embedded appropriately within the text. 

Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should generally be organized as follows (for Original Research Articles; structure may vary for other manuscript types):

  • Title Page:
    • Concise and informative title.
    • Full names of all authors.
    • Authors’ affiliations (Department, Institution, City, State/Province, Country).
    • Email address for each author.
    • ORCID iD for each author (highly recommended).
    • Corresponding author(s) clearly indicated with full contact details (email, phone – optional).
    • Short running title (max [Specify number] characters).
  • Abstract: A structured or unstructured summary of the study (max  350] words). It should briefly state the background, objectives, methods, key results, and conclusions. Do not include citations in the abstract.
  • Keywords: Provide 4 relevant keywords.
  • Introduction: Provide background information, state the problem addressed, review relevant literature, and clearly state the objectives or hypotheses of the study.
  • Materials and Methods: Describe the experimental design, materials used, and procedures followed in sufficient detail to allow replication. For established methods, a reference is sufficient.
  • Results: Present the findings clearly and concisely, using figures and tables as appropriate. Avoid duplicating information between text, figures, and tables.
  • Discussion: Interpret the results in the context of existing literature, discuss their significance, limitations, and implications.
  • Conclusions: Briefly summarize the main findings and their impact. Avoid simply repeating the abstract.
  • Acknowledgments (Optional): Acknowledge individuals or institutions that provided assistance but do not meet authorship criteria.
  • Conflict of Interest Statement: All authors must declare any potential conflicts of interest. If none exist, state “The authors declare no conflict of interest.”
  • Funding: Clearly state all sources of funding for the research. Include grant numbers where applicable. If no specific funding was received, state “This research received no external funding.”
  • References: Cite all sources mentioned in the text. Follow the journal’s specific citation style precisely.
  • Figures: Submit figures as high-resolution image files.
  • Tables: Prepare tables using the table function in your word processor.

 References:

  • The journal follows the APA 7th style for citations and the reference list.
  • Ensure every in-text citation has a corresponding entry in the reference list, and vice versa.
  • References should be listed in alphabetical order by author.

  • Accuracy of references is the author’s responsibility.

Figures and Tables:

  • Figures should be submitted as separate files in high resolution (at least 300 DPI for images, 600 DPI for line art) in formats like TIFF, JPEG, or EPS.
  • Tables should be created using the table function in your word processor or spreadsheet software and submitted as part of the main manuscript file.
  • Ensure figures and tables are clearly numbered (e.g., Figure 1, Table 1) and have descriptive captions that allow them to be understood without referring to the main text.
  • Cite all figures and tables within the manuscript text in numerical order.

Supplementary Materials (Optional):

  • Authors may submit supplementary materials (e.g., large datasets, additional figures, videos) that support the main findings but are not essential for inclusion in the main manuscript.
  • Supplementary materials should be clearly labeled (e.g., “Supplementary Figure S1”, “Supplementary Table S1”).
  • Include a brief description of the supplementary material in the main manuscript text.
